A day of training
Today I will explain my training schedule for the past two months. I still have one month to go but I tough it would be interesting to review the progress so far.
Normally I divide my training into three sessions, a morning session, an afternoon session, and at night I play a rapid game plus a quick analysis of the game (which to be honest I usually skip because It’s late and I’m tired, but I really shouldn’t)
So my training program looks like this:
Morning - 1h30min
Visualization training - 30 minutes
Chesstempo tactics - 30 minutes
Lichess pawn endgame puzzles - 30 minutes
Afternoon - 1h30min
‘Improve Your Chess Calculation’ by R.B. Ramesh - 45 minutes
Opening and middlegame - 45 minutes
Night - 30 min
Lichess 10 + 5 game - 25 minutes
Game analysis - 5 minutes
But of course, no plan survives the battlefield, so here is an example of what an average day of training looks like:
Also some days it doesn’t go as planned:
the most important thing, in my opinion, is to accept that it’s not going to be perfect but you will put maximum effort to try and follow the plan, and if for some reason you can’t do it on that day you just focus on doing as much chess as you can even if it’s only a few minutes.
But if your average training days are not looking like the plan then maybe you need to change the plan.
I hope you found this post useful, leave a comment if you have any questions or if you wanna share your training plan.
